Internal Loop

As the METTOP-BRX-Technology uses higher electrolyte flow rates than conventional cells, the electrolyte supply (i.e., pumps and piping) has to be designed accordingly. In new tankhouses this can be included in the basic design, but in existing tankhouses certain modifications to the electrolyte system are required. If the existing pipes and pumps are all replaced by larger dimensions, this exchange would not only result in costs for the new parts but also an operational standstill during the replacement.

To minimize the investment costs when installing the METTOP-BRX-Technology in existing tankhouses, METTOP ITT provides an Internal Loop to modify the electrolyte supply. The Internal Loop uses the existing inlet piping and additional piping, a collecting tank, and pump, resulting in no standstill during the METTOP-BRX-Technology implementation.
