Industrial Application
The METTOP-BRX-Technology has been developed over the last few years and its first, highly successful industrial application began at the end of 2005. In the year 2007 half of the new tankhouse at Montanwerke Brixlegg AG, Austria, was equipped with the new METTOP-BRX Parallel Flow Devices.
The METTOP-BRX-Technology can be used in all types of electrolysis and its use is not necessarily limited to copper metallurgy. Other fields of implementation are electrolysis in Co, Ni, and Pb metallurgy.
Currently tests are being carried out in a range of different copper tankhouses for the use of the new METTOP-BRX-Technology in:
• electrorefining using stainless steel sheets
• electrorefining using copper starter sheets
• electrowinning using stainless steel sheets
• electrowinning using copper starter sheets
