SMS group receives exclusive license for ILTEC Technology.
Together creating new pathways
In summer this year, Mettop and SMS group agreed to jointly market the water-free cooling technology ILTEC, also integrating the product in the joint-venture company PolyMet Solutions. Since the technology has great potential not only in the non-ferrous industry but also in the entire range of iron and steel production, ILTEC perfectly fits the product portfolio of the SMS group. This was a major reason for SMS group to invest and - together with Mettop - to create new pathways towards new and revolutionary cooling solutions for our customers.

The newly constructed ILTEC facility is equipped with four individual cooling lines which enables the cooling of large areas and applications. Furthermore the cooling capacity of the two heat exchangers of 1.500 kW each and the pumping capacity of 50 m3/h guarantee the appropriate removal of larger heat amounts.
The construction is designed as two individual installation racks (as seen in the construction drawing and the picture) for making both the transport and the installation on site more easy and flexible. As a special feature, the installation of a high-performance instantaneous heater makes the system not only capable of cooling but also enables heating and temperature keeping within the cooler.
