METTOP´s strategies
METTOP GmbH is an independent Austrian engineering company, which was founded in 2005. The company was set up as a GmbH with two directors, Dr. Andreas Filzwieser and Dr. Iris Filzwieser, under the name “METTOP Metallurgische Optimierungs GmbH“, and was renamed to METTOP GmbH in 2007. METTOP is specialized in process optimization in nonferrous metallurgy, the main focus being an easy implementation of the technical solutions into the existing metallurgical process and equipment.
The company’s subjects are:
- Development, production, and selling of electronically controlled measurement and control devices
- Technical process optimization
- Staff-training for realization of the provided technical innovations
- Trading technical devices and equipment in the frame of the above described company subjects
According to the specific customer and project, the above mentioned products and services are provided either as complete package or single parts.
METTOP’s activities comprise the pyro- and hydrometallurgy of copper, as well as optimization work in the area of furnace construction (furnace integrity), like refractory linings, gas purging systems, and cooling systems. In the field of hydrometallurgy, a new electrolysis technology - the METTOP-BRX-Technology - was developed, which is already used commercially. For metallurgical furnaces and equipment, METTOP developed a new cooling technology (ILTEC), which uses ionic liquids as cooling medium instead of water.
Implementing METTOP’s technologies results in certain changes and adjustments in the existing process. For achieving the maximum customer benefit, the operating staff has to understand and support the implemented changes. Therefore, METTOP provides customer-tailored training for the individual process steps and technologies. These training services are also offered separately.
In addition to the mentioned activities, METTOP provides consulting services for suppliers in the copper industry.
